London, Feb 8 : Music mogul Simon Cowell’s relationship with his new love is said to be “getting serious”, as they step out in public together for the first time.

Cowell, 50, was spotted enjoying a dinner date with make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy, 36, and two friends at an upmarket Chinese restaurant on January 6.

“Simon is ready to let everyone know. Things between them are moving along very nicely indeed,” the Mirror quoted a friend as saying.

“Their relationship has been conducted under a cloak of secrecy but the situation has now changed,” the friend said.

The two had started dating last summer, after working together on a makeover for Susan Boyle, and their long-distance relationship had been carried out with “immense discretion”.

“They looked cosy. It was clear there was real chemistry between them. He seemed smitten and she likewise,” a fellow diner at the Mr Chow restaurant in London’s Knightsbridge said.

London, Feb 8 : Liam Gallagher is set to change the name of his rock band Oasis after the exit of his brother Noel.

Noel quit the band during their European tour last year (09), following a string of fights with his sibling.

Liam and his remaining bandmates are now trying to begin work on a new record and he also has plans to rename the group.

“No, it”’’s not Oasis.That was a s**t name anyway. I””m glad to see the back of it,” the Daily Star quoted Liam, as telling radio station XFM.

He said: “There”’’s a name that we””re digging at the moment, but we””re going to get on with the music and see how it goes.”

Although Liam did not reveal the new name he assured fans they won’t have to wait long to see them performing.

Liam said: “We””ll be on stage this year – without a doubt. We””re halfway through the record – the demos, that is.

“We””re in the studio this April to see if this producer works out. If he does, we””ll crack on with the album through June and July.”

London, Feb 08 : Simon Cowell’s TV company amassed more than 21 million pounds last year, thanks to reality shows ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

Seemingly, the ‘American Idol’ judge’s Simco Ltd firm grossed nearly 50,000 pounds a day during the season.

Official figures showed it made 21.1 million pounds profit in the 15 months to March last year, a rise of 65 percent on the 2008 figure, reports the Daily Star.

Simco was formed in 2002, before being sold to record label Sony BMG for 43million pounds in 2005.

It made 6 million pounds alone in UK.

London, Feb 08 : Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston have been spotted getting cosy by a poolside in Mexico.

The ‘300’ actor has flown to Los Cabos to celebrate the ‘Break-Up’ actress’ 41st birthday on February 11.

Aniston was dressed in a bikini, sharing an intimate moment with Butler, at their private pool.

A source close to the pair revealed the beauty has been considering a relationship with Butler “for ages”.

“She’’s gone out her way to spend as much time with him as possible,” the Sun quoted the source as saying.

The insider added: “It even helped dictate her work schedule. Him turning up in Mexico is a good sign. If she is inviting him to hang out with her closest friends they must be getting serious.

“Her friends were worried Gerard was a bit too much of a lad too. But it seems she is taming him.”

Aniston apparent plans to celebrate her birthday with her closest pals, including ‘Friends’ co-star Courtney Cox.

London, Feb 8 : Victoria Beckham is longing for a baby girl after she came to know her sis Louise was pregnant, it has emerged.

Posh, 35, is mum to three sons – Brooklyn, ten, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, four. And all her kids arrived within months of her sis giving birth.

And now that Louise, 31, is 14 weeks pregnant, Posh is said to have become “broody”.

It is believed she has now told hubby David, 34, that they should try for another child after the World Cup in the summer.

“Louise has just told everyone she is expecting and Vic has immediately become broody,” the Sun quoted a family friend, as saying.

The insider added: “She and David have always wanted a girl. He”d love more kids so it’’s great news.”

London, Feb 8 : Kim Kardashian’s former maid has dragged her to court over unpaid wages.

Isabel Hernandez, who worked for Kardashian while the socialite was married to music producer Damon Thomas, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging that the former couple did not pay her salary.

Hernandez claims that she was made to work for long periods of time and was only given lump sums every few months.

She says a 13,100 dollars cheque given to her in March 2006 bounced. Hernandez is also claiming another 300dollars in payment for 2009.

However, Kardashian’’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley pointed out that she cannot be sued for any outstanding payments as she had moved out of the marital home in Los Angeles before divorcing Thomas in 2004.

According to TMZ, Hernandez has taken Thomas and Kardashian to court for breach of contract and is demanding 29,000dollars in damages, reports the Daily Star.

Kardashian – who was just 19 when she wed Thomas – has since moved on and is dating American footballer Reggie Bush.

Nevada (US), Feb 8 : Oscar winner A.R. Rahman’s music for “Sultan The Warrior” film will be released in the near future, according to reports.

This computer-animation film, starring the animated version of Tamil megastar Rajnikanth (Chandramukhi), directed by his daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth, is expected to be released in April in 18 different languages, including English, Tamil, and Hindi.

Tamil actress Vijayalakshmi Agathiyan (Chennai 600028) will provide the voice for female lead. Rahman has been reportedly quoted as saying that his compositions in “Sultan The Warrior” would be “distinctly different”.

Rahman’s music of Telugu film “Ye Maaya Chesaave” was slated for February three release. Produced by Sanjay Swarup and directed by Gowtham Vasudev Menon, it stars Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Anantha Sriram provided the lyrics.

Its Sony Music album contains seven tracks—Kundanapu Bomma, Manasaa, Swaasye, Ee Hridayam, Aakaasam, Vintunnavaa, and Aaromale—sung by Benny Dayal, Kalyani Menon, Devan Ekambaram, Chinmayi, Karthik, Vijay Prakash, Suzanne, Blaaze, Naresh Iyer, Shreya Ghoshal, and Alphonse.

Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, commended Rahman for creating pride and respect among India’s youth about their own rich musical heritage.

Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, credited Rahman for opening new doors to East-West relationship in music.

Sydney, Feb 8 : Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie is set to restyle herself as Princess Diana after her impending break up with actor Brad Pitt, it has been claimed.

While writing in Daily Mail, writer Ian Harper said that the ‘Tomb Raider’ star will set her sights on a new man from outside the showbusiness world and will help recast her as a 21st-century Princess Diana.

“She wants someone more worldly, more serious,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Halperin as saying.

“Jolie sees herself on the arm of someone on the world stage,” he added.

Halperin, who published Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, said that the actress’’s constant campaigning for human rights and role as a UN goodwill ambassador is a sign of things to come.

“There are only two role models she now wishes to emulate – Jackie Onassis and Diana, Princess of Wales,” he said.

“A close friend says Jolie believes she can be this era’’s Diana.

“She told me: ”She thinks she can be a similarly powerful and charismatic figure in global political circles,”” he added.

Break-up rumours swirled last month following revelations the couple had nutted out a USD 330 million separation agreement.

London, February 8 : African villagers have claimed they are being forced to relocate to give way to a new school in Malawi funded by Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity.

As many as 200 villagers were being shifted from their ancestral land and claimed they were being poorly compensated by the Queen of Pop, who agreed to pay 70,000 pounds in damages.

“My sisters and I inherited this land from our parents, whose parents have been here for over a hundred years. How can I get only K200,000? (850 pounds)” the Daily Express quoted one unhappy villager, Amos Mkuyu, as saying.

District commissioner Charles Kalemba told the villagers in Chinkhota: “The government allowed you to occupy this land because there was no project yet, but now that Madonna wants to build you a school you have to give way. This school is the future of our children’

“You are lucky that Madonna has compensated you for your houses, gardens and trees.” Village head man Binson Chinkhota said: “We have been compensated and this school is a pride for us as it is the future of our children.”

Anjimile Mtila-Oponyo, the school’s principal-designate, added: “We stalled for some months because of the land dispute. We are now in full swing and set to meet the 2011 deadline.”

London, February 8 : Sandra Bullock has revealed that she’s sure she would not be taking home the coveted statuette at next month’’s Academy Awards.

The Miss Congeniality star has been nominated for the Best Actress category along with Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan and Gabourey Sidibe, for her performance in The Blind Side.

But the actress said she is convinced it is not she who will be holding the Oscar because she has already guessed the winner.

“I”m so not winning an Oscar. Nine times out of ten I always pick who’’s going to win. And I already know who’’s going to win. I”m not going to say, but nine times out of ten, I”m right,” the Daily Express quoted her as telling People.com.

“I have to say, all the ladies in our category, we don”t care who wins. Someone’’s going to win and the rest of us will be really happy for whoever won. We”re just happy to be here. And we like the company we”re in,” she added.
